In less than 24 hours I will arrive in Bogota, Colombia. By the time this post goes live, or you are reading this. I will either be on my way or already there.
My trip to Mexico was exactly 10 weeks long. For this trip I plan to be gone for a full 10 months.
I still don’t feel like it has set in that I will be leaving for that long, and I don’t think it will until I have landed.
I have so many things I want to do throughout my journey that it would take more time than i care to spend to list them all. But even with the things that I want to do, I have absolutely no type of itinerary for this trip. Other than the fact that I will eventually make my way out to Southeast Asia.
It’s weird to know that I will be living this way. With the freedom to go anywhere I want at the drop of a hat. In fact the main reason I had chosen Colombia is because I found cheap flight. As one of my friends made my realize, that’s actually a pretty liberating and cool thing to say. “Why Colombia Scott?” … “Because I found a cheap flight.”
One thing I am sure of is that I would like to be 50-70% fluent in Spanish before I leave Latin America. I may move up north through Central America or down South further into South America before I leave for Asia. But I really won’t know where I’ll end up until a flight is booked. The time from getting the idea of Colombia to booking a flight took only a few hours. And the flight I booked was only 8 days away.
So plans can change at any time.
I guess it’s best to say that I’ll just have to wait and see where I actually end up, and for how long I stay in a particular area.
I have big business plans for 2015, so maybe business networking will take me to unexpected places as well. As it took me to Atlanta, Georgia twice last year.
But no matter what happens, this is sure to be an extraordinary year.
